Mary Caroline Hammesfahr, age 82 years, of Pittstown, NJ, died on Wednesday, May 14, 2008, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, December 2, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Theodore S. and Mary M. Seiler.
She was a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church, Quakertown, NJ, past official board president, and member of the Senior Church Choir.
Mary was a past president of the Hunterdon County PTA, Eastern Star, active member of the Senior Hunterdon Chorus, past volunteer at the Hunterdon Medical Center, and life member of the Quakertown Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary.
She was owner of Travel-Now in Pittstown for many years. She was a sales associate at the Shady Lamp Company Store in Libert Village, Flemington, NJ, and the Kitchen Store in Flemington.
She was pre-deceased by her brother, Theodore Seiler. Surviving are her husband of sixty-one years, Robert Hammesfahr; son, Robert Hammesfahr of Pittstown, NJ; son and daughter-in-law, Eric and Shirley Hammesfahr, Sr. of Pittstown, NJ; six grandchildren: Johanna Wachter, Stacey Michalski, Eliza Hammesfahr, Leslie Hammesfahr, Eric Hammesfahr, Jr., and Olivia Hammesfahr; and one great-grandchild, Samuel Michalski.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 11 AM in the Quakertown United Methodist Church, Quakertown, NJ. Interment will be in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 7-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
