Mary E. Dilts

Mary E. Dilts, age 100 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Monday, January 2, 2023, at her home.

Born in Princeton, NJ, November 10, 1922, daughter of the late Edward and Annie Louise Wyckoff Buchanan, she formerly resided in Rocky Hill, NJ and had resided in the Flemington area since 1945.

Mary was formerly a telephone operator for Bell Telephone Co. and later was a cafeteria worker at Robert Hunter Elementary School, Flemington.

Mary loved to dance especially the jitterbug, enjoyed playing cards and spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Her husband, John W. Dilts, died in 1999.

Surviving are her daughter, Deborah Dilts Lyons of Flemington, NJ; her son, Claude Dilts and his wife, Ann, of Little Falls, NJ ;four grandchildren, Jason E. Lyons of Seattle, WA, Alyson L. Lyons and her husband, Alejandro Umerez of Buenos Aires, Argentina, Kevin J. Dilts of and his wife, Krysta, of Lincoln Park, NJ and Kimberly M. Dilts of Fairlawn, NJ; and two great grandchildren, Ava Marie Dilts and Dominic John Dilts.

There will be a brief public visitation at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ on Thursday, January 5, 2023, from 10:30 AM to 11:00 AM. Private graveside services will follow in Rocky Hill Cemetery, Rocky Hill, NJ.
