Mary G. Macomber, age 77, of Mead, Co. and Stockton, NJ, died Thursday, June 1, 2017 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in New York City, August 15, 1939, Mary was the daughter of the late Gaetano and Matilda Perillo Agliano, she resided in the Stockton area since 1974. She and her husband also maintained a home in Mead, CO for the last several years.
A registered nurse, she was a graduate of the Bellevue School of Nursing in New York City. For twenty-one years, Mary was a member of the Stockton First Aid Squad, serving as its Captain for 10 years. She was the first female rescue squad Captain in Hunterdon County.
Mary was a former Girl Scout Leader and a member of the Guardian Angels Women’s Group of Mead CO, and was a member of the Longmont United Hospital Volunteers in Longmont CO.
Surviving are her husband, Richard W. Macomber, three daughters, Elizabeth Calamito of Stockton NJ, Allison Cyr and her husband, Mark, of Blairstown NJ, and Christine Reilly and her husband, Tom, of Bloomsbury NJ, five grandchildren, Amanda Calamito, Emily Reilly, Michael Reilly, and Mackenzie Cyr, Charis Cyr, and one great-grandson, Mace Cyr.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, June 5, 2017 at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, North Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday, June 4, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
Memorial contributions in Mary’s name may be made to Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Building Fund, 103 3rd Street, Mead, CO 80542.
