Mary Jane Drenkhahn

Mary Jane Drenkhahn, age 64, died Tuesday, July 25, 2023 at Lehigh Valley Hospital – Muhlenberg in Bethlehem PA. She moved to Nazareth PA in 2020 after living in Flemington NJ for many years.

Born August 7, 1958, in Somerville NJ, Mary Jane was the daughter of the late Shadrach and Eleanor (Swithers) Howells.

Mary Jane worked for Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical in Branchburg NJ for more than 40 years, primarily working in their Tax Department. While living in NJ, she was a long-time member of the Three Bridges Reformed Church and the Three Bridges Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary for many years.

Mary Jane and her late husband, Edward Drenkhahn, shared a love of many sports, especially watching the New York Yankees, the NY Football Giants and auto racing. She loved to travel with her family where they took frequent cruises, among her favorite trips were many cruises to Bermuda.

Some of Mary Jane’s favorite times were spent enjoying playing Airplane Rummy with her family, as well sharing as a love for reading and she would frequently share recently read books with her daughter, Liz. Mary Jane would often help out with Liz’s speed skating team by collecting dues and would attend all the meets she was able to.

In addition to her parents, Mary Jane was predeceased by her husband, Edward Drenkhahn in 2020. She is survived by her daughter, Elizabeth (Liz) Drenkhahn of Nazareth PA, her granddaughter Emma Tyler of Nazareth PA, and her sister-in-law, Susan Drenkhahn of Holland MI, as well as several family members.

A memorial service for Mary Jane will be held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 4, 2023 at Three Bridges Reformed Church Cemetery. Interment in the church cemetery will follow.
