Mary Virginia "Ginny" Clawson Perkovich

January 28, 1938 — January 21, 2025

Clinton, NC

Mary Virginia Clawson Perkovich “Ginny” of Clinton, NC formerly of Ringoes, NJ passed away January 21, 2025 in Whispering Pines Nursing and Rehab in Fayetteville, NC.

She was born in Trenton, NJ to Harold and Marion (Hunt) Clawson on January 28, 1938.  The oldest of five, she spent her youth on the family farm on Rocktown Road. Moving to Ringoes in her teenage years, she was a graduate of the last class of Flemington High School in 1956. She remained active with her class throughout her life helping to organize the reunions until the last formal one October 9, 2021.

After high school she took a job at Hunterdon County National Bank. She would remain in banking throughout all the mergers and retire from Wells Fargo in 1997. In 1958, she married Edward G. Perkovich. They had two children together, Ed and Debbie. Ginny left banking at this time to raise the kids. She returned after a 13 year hiatus. After leaving the bank, being an active reader, she worked for Hunterdon County Public Library mostly in the South County Branch until 2006.

After this last retirement, she and Ed moved south to be nearer the grandchildren. They were her joy, and she had big plans to be here for the next big thing in their lives - graduations, marriages, children. When not attending their activities, she also enjoyed murder mysteries, cooking shows and Jeopardy.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years Edward G. Perkovich, her parents, Harold and Marion (Hunt) Clawson, as well as her sisters, Sarah Clawson Perkovich and Barbara Clawson Pershyn, and recently, her brother Richard Clawson.

She is survived by her children, Edward Perkovich of Roscommon, MI, her daughter Debra Perkovich Malahias of Clinton, NC, and her sister Linda Clawson Fisher of Virginia Beach, VA. She also leaves behind her three grandchildren Nicole Malahias Stephenson (Lenny) of Knoxville, TN, Stephanie Malahias and John Malahias of Clinton, NC. There are a host of loving nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and countless friends and ex-coworkers sprinkled around the country as well.
