Mary S. Bodine, age 86 years, of Quakertown, NJ, died on Sunday, November 22, 2009, in Bristol Glen, Newton, NJ.
Born in Pittstown, NJ, October 5, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Wilson and Marion Wright Compton. A resident of Newton since 2005, she had resided in Quakertown, NJ from 1946-2005.
Mrs. Bodine was first employed by Commercial Dress Company, High Bridge, NJ and then was employed by Hunterdon Transformer, Quakertown, NJ.
A member of the first graduating class of the Franklin Township Elementary School, Quakertown, NJ, she also was a 1942 graduate of Flemington High School, Flemington, NJ.
Mrs. Bodine was a member of the Quakertown United Methodist Church, Quakertown, NJ, the Colonel Lowery Chapter of the D.A.R., Flemington, NJ, the Hunterdon Quilter's Guild, the Franklin Township Senior Citizens, the Rural Awareness Committee of Franklin Township and the Holcombe-Jimison Farmstead Museum, Lambertville, NJ.
Her husband, Richard Bodine, died in 1972.
Surviving are three daughters, Linda Mahler of Newton, NJ, Jean Fivehouse of Randolph, NJ and Susan DeLay of Carmel Valley, CA; five grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday at 11 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Visitation will be Wednesday from 10 AM until time of service in the funeral home. A Memorial Service will be held on Friday at 1:30 PM in Bristol Glen, 200 Bristol Glen Drive, Newton, NJ.
