Mary Virginia Gural, age 101 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, August 13, 2019 in Bridgeway Care Center, Hillsborough, NJ.
Born in Elizabeth, NJ, March 20, 1918, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Rosalia Disporto Lamendola.
A faithful Communicant of St. Magdalen Church, Mary was a homemaker and a wonderful cook. She also worked on the family farm, with her brother at Charlie’s Bar in Flemington, at the Flemington Fur Company, at the Hilltop and Muirhead restaurants, at RCA, and at Eaton Yale Corporation.
Her husband, Emil Gural, Sr., died in 1983. Mary was also predeceased by her sons, Emil, Jr. in 2011 and Richard in 2013; and a grandson, Emil III, in 2015. Surviving are her sister, Lillian Mathews, of Pittstown, NJ; her grandchildren and their spouses, Jacqueline and Paul Tulanowski, Alina and Jason Keeneghan, and Peter Gural; and her seven great-grandchildren: Sophia, Charlotte, Ronald, Andrew, Luke, Laila, and Lilly.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated by Rev. Timothy Christy on Saturday, August 17, 2019 at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Burial will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Friday, August 16, 2019 from 6-9 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
