Maryjane Smuul

MaryJane Smuul, age 94 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at her home.

Born in Pittsburgh, PA, October 26, 1923, she was the daughter of the late Harry and Mary Weidaw Burns. She had resided in the Flemington area since 1939.

She was a secretary for the Hunterdon County Democrat and was a 1942 graduate of Flemington High School. During the war years she worked at Belle Meade Army Depot in Outbound Transportation as a building clerk for equipment and supplies going overseas.

MaryJane was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flemington, NJ, Flemington-Raritan Senior Citizens, and the AARP.

She was predeceased by her husband of fifty-nine years, Daniel H. Smuul, in 2006; and a daughter, Sandra Stem, in 1998. Surviving are her granddaughter, Heather Stem, of Raritan Township, NJ, her great granddaughter, Sandra, and many nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, August 11, 2018 in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hour will be from 10:00 am until the time of service at the funeral home.
