Matthew L. Dasilva

Matthew L. DaSilva, age 17 years, of Union Township, NJ, passed away on Friday, June 30, 2017 in Franklin Township, NJ. Born in Princeton, NJ, October 20, 1999, he was the son of Marcelo and Angelina Natale DaSilva. Matthew was a Student Ministries’ Leader at South Ridge Community Church, Clinton, NJ and volunteered in the children’s ministry. He had a heart to serve the Lord and was passionate about playing the drums in the church youth band. Matthew’s faith was the most important thing in his life, and he had planned on a career in full-time ministry. Matthew lived his life according to Romans 1:16, “For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes.” Matthew attended North Hunterdon High School and on his free time worked at the Fudge Shoppe in Flemington, NJ where he will be dearly missed. Surviving in addition to his loving parents are a brother, Luke DaSilva and a sister, Caroline DaSilva; his maternal grandparents, Leo and Carolyn Natale; paternal grandmother, Zely DaSilva; uncle and aunt, Frank and Paula Natale, and aunt and uncle, Daniela and Laercio Ody; cousins: Lucy, Nick, Jesse, and Rocco Natale and Daniel and Gabriel Ody. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 10:00 AM at South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Road, Clinton, NJ. Interment will be private. There will be no calling hours. Arrangements are under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Matthew’s name may be made to South Ridge Community Church, 7 Pittstown Road, Clinton, NJ 08809.
