Maureen Joan Srubjan, age 73 years, of Delaware Township, NJ died on Saturday, May 2, 2020 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Glen Ridge, NJ on February 18, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Edward Bennett and Carol Ann (Culver) McQuilken.
Maureen was formerly employed as an Administrative Assistant for the Raritan Township Department of Public Works. She retired from that post in 2015 after twenty-five plus years of service.
Maureen loved to live life to the fullest and had many hobbies and favorite things to do. She had a great love for the outdoors and could most often be found in her garden or camping with her family and friends.
She also enjoyed music, reading, shopping and television, especially her favorite soap operas and the QVC channel. Musically, she enjoyed the Beatles, Rock N’ Roll, and the “Classic Rewind” stations on the radio. Maureen loved to read, she often perused through countless newspapers and magazines on a regular basis. Maureen also enjoyed a nice meal out, especially a good steak cooked exactly to her liking. Lastly, her late husband, James, loved NASCAR and she shared in his passion of racing as they attended many races together.
She was predeceased by her husband, James Srubjan, who died in 2015, as well as her brothers: Paul and Michael McQuilken. She is survived by her brother, Kevin J. McQuilken and his wife Christine of Flemington, and their two children, Ryan McQuilken and his wife, Dorothy, of Annandale, along with three grand-nephews, and Alison Sheckelton and her husband, John, of Florham Park. From the Srubjan side of her family, she is survived by her three brothers-in-law: Tony, Ron, and Mike and her sisters-in-law: Ann, Helen, and Christine, as well as eight nieces and nephews and eight grand-nieces and nephews.
Maureen, AKA “Aunt Reenie,” will be sorely missed by her family and many friends.
