Maynard M. Selquist, age 99 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, December 19, 2010, in Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ.
Born in Varna, IL, March 25, 1911, he was the son of the late John and Anna Johnson Selquist. He had formerly resided in Illinois his entire life, moving to Raritan Township, NJ two years ago.
He was a machine operator/supervisor for Elco Industries, retiring in 1976.
He was a member of the Tabor Lutheran Church and its Social Ministry and also volunteered at the Swedish American Hospital for many years.
His wife, Violet Peterson Selquist, died in 1995. He was also pre-deceased by a sister, Violet Winter. Surviving are a son, Curtis Selquist, of Whitehouse Station, NJ; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
A Memorial Service will be announced in the St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Services and interment in Scandinavian Cemetery, Rockford, IL under the direction of the Fred C. Olson Mortuary, Rockford, IL.
