Melanie C. Dendis at age 71 went to her eternal home on Thursday, November 26th, 2020 in the Morristown Medical Center in Morristown, NJ.
Melanie was born on September 21st, 1949 to the late Joseph and Ruth Amann of Homosassa, FL. At a young age, she moved from Gloversville, NY to Metuchen, NJ where she resided until age 20. Melanie graduated from Metuchen High School, class of 1967. She attended Rutgers University and studied accounting. She worked for Continental Insurance, CNA and retired from MetLife Financial in 2018.
In 1969, she married the love of her life, John Dendis, Jr. They shared 51 years of wonderful marriage and have two children. They resided in Piscataway, NJ for many years, later moving to Plainsboro, NJ, and residing for the last twenty-five years in Raritan Township, NJ.
Melanie is survived by her husband, John; her sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Beth Dendis of Raritan Township, NJ, and Michael and Michelle Dendis of Ringoes, NJ; and her five grandchildren: Emily, Alexis, Logan, Sean, and Katie. She is also survived by her nephew and his wife, Jeff and Erica Amann of California; and her niece and her husband, Cindy and Kevin Bauer of Utah.
Her grandchildren were the apples of her eye. You would regularly see “Mel” on the sidelines at soccer, football and basketball games supporting her grandchildren. Her contagious smile and willingness to help wherever needed, will be sorely missed. Mel enjoyed her beach house with her family and going to the casinos with her friends.
