Michael A. Harwick

Michael A. Harwick, sge 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, March 4, 2009, in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Flemington, NJ, January 25, 1918, he was the son of the late Michael and Rose Gerba Harwick. He was a lifelong resident of the Flemington area and a graduate of Flemington High School.

He was a United States Army veteran of World War II, and a member of Flemington VFW Post #7856 and Flemington American Legion Post #159.

Mr. Harwick retired from General Motors in 1982.

His wife, Helen Scheier Harwick, died in 1990. Surviving are a son, Michael Harwick, of Raritan Township, NJ; a sister, Irene Moore of Flemington, NJ; and two grandchildren, Hayley Marie Chamberlain and Dane Michael Harwick, both of Alpha, NJ.

Graveside Services will be held on Saturday at 11:30 AM in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. There will be no calling hours.
