Michael E. Ubel, age 85 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died Saturday, January 10, 2015, at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, December 2, 1929, son of the late Michael and Anna Helmouth Ubel, he had resided most of his life in Delaware Township.

A former heavy equipment operator, he was a member of Operating Engineers Local #825 of Perth Amboy, NJ and was a former member of the Raritan Township Fire Company.

He enjoyed the outdoors and was an avid hunter for many years. Mike also was a self-taught mechanic who liked to tinker with engines and machinery. Most of all, he enjoyed his family and friends.

His wife, Florence Maleski Ubel, died in 1995. He was also pre-deceased by three brothers, Alfred, Rudolph and Frederick Ubel.

Surviving are four daughters, Michele Danberry and her companion, Dirk Vanselous, of Riegelsville, PA., Deborah Gutschmidt and her husband, Edward, of Pittstown, NJ, Cheryl Knoblauch of Milford, NJ, and Laurie Trinkley and her husband, Harry, of Bethlehem, PA; three grandchildren, Jonathan Danberry of Phillipsburg, NJ, Dustin Lynn Knoblauch and her husband, Chris Kalinski, of Belmar, NJ, and Ryan Michael Knoblauch of Milford, NJ; a brother, John Ubel of Upper Black Eddy, PA; a sister, Hilda McConnell of Riegelsville, PA; and his companion of twenty years, Mary Mulligan.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, January 14, 2015, at 12 Noon in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be Wednesday 10:00 AM-12 Noon at the funeral home.
