Michael Fedor, age 98 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Wednesday, November 16, 2022, at his home.
Born in Berezhany, Ukraine, July 8, 1924, son of the late Andrew and Anna Kowalyszyn Fedoriw, he resided in Flemington for sixty years having formerly resided in Jersey City, NJ, Bronx, NY and Locktown, NJ.
Michael was formerly employed by RCA, Bridgewater, NJ as a machine attendant in its’ photomask operation, then as a custodian at Hunterdon Central Regional High School, Flemington, NJ until retiring in 2004.
Michael had a zest for life and escaped from the Russian occupation of the Ukraine, the German Occupation of the Ukraine and the German Occupation of France coming to the United States in 1951.
He loved to converse with others, was an avid gardener and loved feeding and watching the birds.
His wife Jeannine Poluha Fedor died in 2006, his son, US Marine PFC Andrew Fedor was killed in action in Vietnam in 1967, and his other son, John Fedor, died in 1957.
Surviving are two daughters, Oksana (Reuben) Klein of East Brunswick, NJ and Katherine Henning of Milford, NJ; four grandchildren, Larissa (William) Skurka, Jacob Klein, Peter Klein and Michael Van Dine; two great grandchildren, Joseph Skurka and Molly Skurka; and two sisters-in-law, Helene Leshchuk of New York City and Madeleine Meerman of Moissy Cramayel, France.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, November 21, 2022, at 1:00 PM in St. Michael The Archangel Ukrainian Catholic Church, 1700 Brooks Blvd., Hillsborough, NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday, November 20, 2022, from 4:00 PM-6:00 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Parastas services will be held at 6:00 PM Sunday at the funeral home.
The family requests everyone attending the Mass to meet at the church prior to 1:00 PM.
