Michael J. Mastrangelo, Jr.

Michael J. Mastrangelo, Jr., age 88 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Friday, June 29, 2012 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Iselin, NJ, June 6, 1924, son of the late Michael J. Mastrangelo, Sr. and Rose Romano Mastrangelo, he had resided in Delaware Township, NJ for the past twelve years, having formerly lived in Milford, NJ, Pittstown, NJ and Iselin, NJ.

He was formerly the longtime owner and operator of Michael’s Auto Parts, Iselin, NJ. A United States Army Veteran of World War II, Mr. Mastrangelo was a Tank Operator in Germany. He was formerly a member of the Oak Hill Golf Club, Holland Township, NJ; a former member of the Knights of Columbus, Iselin, NJ; and a member of the AARP Senior’s Group, Phillipsburg, NJ.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-two years, Rita M. Mastandrea Mastrangelo; two daughters and sons-in-laws, Michele and Daniel Reilly of Nokamis, FL and Susan and Michael Barna of Delaware Township, NJ; four grandchildren, Joshua Reilly, Michael J. Barna, Anthony Barna and Amy Barna; and one great-grandson, Michael Joseph, due to be born in October, 2012.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be Sunday from 1:00-3:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
