Michael Leopold Rubin

Michael Rubin, age 67 years, of Highland Lakes, NJ, died Sunday, August 28, 2016 at St. Clare's Hospital in Sussex NJ.

Michael was an enthusiastic dancer, a sometimes poet, a loyal friend, a political activist, a husband, a brother and devoted son.

Michael dedicated the last 25 years of his life to the service of others, working for the Bergen County Division of Senior Services as a social worker. He was beloved by his co-workers and touched many hundreds of clients over the years with his ready and quirky humor, compassion and dedication.

He loved family and was always there for every holiday gathering and milestone for his siblings, nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. He was a devoted, loving son, to his mother Trudy Rubin, who was a Holocaust survivor.

He is survived by his wife, Bonnie, and sweet dog, Leo, and four siblings, Rachel Reuben, Danielle Goral, John Touitou, Rudy Touitou and the Adler family, whom he had great affection for.

Funeral services officiated by Rabbi Eli Kornfeld, will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, September 2, 2016 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, in Flemington.

Shiva will be held on Friday at the Goral home at 8 Wildflower Court, Clinton, NJ 08809.
