Mildred "Midge" Fritz, of Quakertown, NJ, passed into the loving arms of family and friends that went before her on May 5, 2012.
Mildred Marie Taylor was born to Nelle Rietz Taylor and T. Smith Taylor on January 12, 1921.
A life long caretaker of everyone in need, Midge started her adult life by graduating magna cum laude from PSU in 1942. Following that she married her sweetheart, Jack Fritz and they began a life together. She worked at Curtiss Wright Engineering while Jack served in World War II. Following his homecoming, they welcomed three daughters into the world. Midge always took care of family first. Her parents and sister as well as her kids and their friends. She loved the month long family car trips in August that took all five family members in one station wagon through all 49 of the continental United States.
Midge hosted every family member's birthday parties, MYF youth group parties, girl scout overnights, church breakfasts and dinners, a rehearsal dinner for her daughter, an annual clerk party that was the height of her favorite activities, among many other things. She was active as a girl scout leader, Sunday school teacher and always someone who championed causes that advocated for others. She went on trail rides in the Grand Tetons with her daughter for many years. She was an active, involved and strong mother at all times from the time her oldest was born until the last day she shared here with us.
She is survived by her three loving daughters, Linda Fritz of Montana, Cheryl Toschlog of Indiana and Melissa Minarik of New Jersey; Sons-in-law, Bernie Minarik and Stephen Toschlog, and grandchildren Craig Brewer, Diana Cox, Steve Toschlog, John Toschlog, Rachel Minarik and Nick Minarik who all loved Grandma very much.
A church service in celebration of her life, and the joy she brought to others will be held on Friday, May 11, 2012 at 1:00 pm in Old Rocks Church, 260 Mt. Airy-Harbourton Road, Lambertville, NJ 08530 under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ.
