Mildred Taylor, widow of the late Dr. Irving W. Taylor of Scotch Plains, NJ passed away early on Monday, August 25, 2014, in Newtown, PA.
Born October 15, 1926, Mildred had a career as a medical technologist, a market researcher and later as a computer program sales associate.
For many years she was an active member of Temple Sholom in Scotch Plains. After retirement, she volunteered at the Newark Museum and also enjoyed reading to elementary school children in Plainfield, NJ. Mildred loved the theater and happily spent many years ushering at the Papermill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ.
She was an avid reader, loved music, art and traveling. She and her husband often recounted their many wonderful experiences traveling around the world.
She is survived by her daughter, Pamela Leslie Ahlborn and her husband, Bill of Newtown, Pa; her son, Frederick "Rick" Holland Taylor and his wife, Cindy of Bastrup, TX; three grandchildren, Melissa Ahlborn, Will Taylor and Neal Taylor, and by her cousin, Barbara Schachman of Berkeley Heights, NJ.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am on Thursday, August 28, 2014 at Temple Shalom, 1925 Lake Avenue, Scotch Plains, NJ 07076. Burial will follow in Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
