Minerva Rivera Carvajal, age 84 years, of Dover, NJ, died Wednesday, July 3, 2019, at The Dwelling Place, Dover, NJ.
Born in Aguas Buenas, Puerto Rico, December 8, 1934, daughter of the late Angel Rivera Lopez and Librada Carvajal Rodriguez, she came to the continental United States in 1950 and was a dietary aide at JFK Hospital, Edison, NJ.
A former resident of Edison, NJ and also of Highland Park, NJ, Minerva loved rose gardening; loved to sing and loved her family and was the “Best Mother Ever” to her children.
Her husband, Oscar Rivera Hernandez, died in 1990 and a brother, Francisco Rivera Carvajal, died in 2018.
Surviving are a daughter, Bernice Wright and a son, Oscar Rivera, both of Flemington, NJ; three brothers, Arturo Rivera Carvajal, Jorge Luis Rivera Carvajal and Hermes Rivera Carvajal, all of Puerto Rico; and three sisters, Ramona Rivera Carvajal of Perry Hall, MD, Ampharo Rivera Rodriguez of Puerto Rico and Blanca Iris Rivera Carvajal of Clearwater, FL.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, July 6, 2019, at 10:00AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ followed by entombment in St. Magdalen Mausoleum, Flemington. Calling hours will be Friday, July 5,2019, 2:00-4:00PM and 6:00-8:00PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
