Miriam Blaher, age 81 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, August 16, 2009 at her residence.
Born in Bronx, NY, October 8, 1927, she was the daughter of the late Benjamin and Sophie Greenberg Rappaport and had resided in the Flemington, NJ area since 1946.
A graduate of the City College of New York, Mrs. Blaher formerly worked at first in her father's delicatessen, then went on to become a vital part of Reimer Construction Company. Additionally, she was formerly part-owner of the Flemington Roller Rink and also a Physician's Assistant with the office of Dr. Steinberg and Dr. Grossman in Hopewell, NJ.
Mrs. Blaher, along with her son Joel, owned and operated the Flemington Coffee Shop for many years and she also assisted her husband William, at Blaher's Stationery Store.
A member of the Flemington Jewish Community Center, Mrs. Blaher was formerly Secretary of its Sisterhood.
Surviving are her husband of thirty-six years, William S. Blaher; three sons, Jerry Reimer of Milltown, NJ, Cary Reimer of Lambertville, NJ and Joel Reimer of Raritan Township, NJ; a brother, Albert Rappaport of Highland Park, NJ; six grandchildren; and seven great grandchildren.
Funeral services will take place Tuesday at 11:00 a.m. in the Flemington Jewish Community Center, 5 Sergeantsville Road, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will follow in the Flemington Jewish Community Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ. There are no calling hours.
