Morris K. Barrick, age 85 years, of Flemington, NJ, died Friday, December 27, 2013, at his home.
A lifelong resident of Hunterdon County, he was born in Quakertown, NJ, February 22, 1928, son of the late Edgar and Ruth Case Barrick, and had resided in Flemington sixty-four years.
Morris was chief lineman with Jersey Central Power & Light Company, Flemington, retiring in 1988.
He was a member and former deacon of the Flemington Presbyterian Church; the NJ Tree Growers Association; and was an avid trapshooter and a member of the American Trapshooters Assn. He was a 1947 graduate of Flemington High School.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-four years, Carol Carter Barrick; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Stephen C. and Pamela Barrick of Flemington, NJ and John M. Barrick of Ortonville, MI; and two grandchildren Tyler Barrick and his wife, Samantha, and Gretchen Gayeski and her husband, Will.
Morris was pre-deceased by his two brothers, Orville Barrick and Harold Barrick.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, December 31, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Main Street, Flemington, NJ, followed by interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington. Calling hours will be Monday 7:00-9:00 p.m. at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
