Muriel H. Potter, age 84 years, of Flemington, NJ, died on Saturday, September 12, 2009 at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Greenwich, CT, June 13, 1925, she was the daughter of the late Arthur and Mildred Peck Hendry and had resided in Flemington since March of 2009, having formerly resided in Stamford, CT, Bridgewater, NJ and Virginia Beach, VA.

A Registered Nurse, she was formerly employed at Westchester County Hospital, Westchester, NY, Stamford Hospital, Stamford, CT and later at a physician's office in Bound Brook, NJ.

Mrs. Potter was a member of the Virginia Beach Widow and Widowers Group.

Her husband, Richard Potter, died in 1991, and a brother, Howard Hendry, also pre-deceased her.

Surviving are a son and daughter-in-law, Laurence A. and Dianne Potter of Flemington, NJ; a daughter, Cheryl Potter Walling of Santa Monica, CA; three sisters, Virginia Galbraith of Williamsburg, VA, Joanna Sanderson of Brookfield, CT and Mildred Salmassy of Pacific Palisades, CA; two grandchildren, Patrick Walling and Joanna Walling Leon; and one great grandson, Garrett Walling.

Memorial Services will be held Wednesday at 6:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment in Arlington National Cemetery, Arlington, VA, will be held at a later date. Calling hours will be Wednesday from 4:30-6:00 p.m. in the Funeral Home.
