Muriel M. Parkes

Muriel M. Parkes, age 93 years, of Hackettstown, NJ, died Sunday, April 26, 2020, at Paragon Health Center, Hackettstown, NJ. A lifelong resident of the Flemington area, she was born in Readington Township, NJ and was a last surviving child of the late George S. Cole and Susan Creveling Cole. Muriel worked as a waitress at the former Snug Harbor, Flemington, NJ and at the Hot & Cold Shop, Flemington, NJ. She later was the manager of the Hunterdon Theater, Flemington and the Cinema Six Complex, Flemington. Muriel was a member of Darcy Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star. Her husband, Howard Parkes, died in 2012. She is survived by her son, Robert A. Jones and his wife, Jo Ann Staugaard-Jones; four grandchildren, Roslyn Fine, Martin Jones, Sara Pusey and Cari Sanchez and six great grandchildren.
