Myra Jean Scholl, of West Chester, PA and recently Lebanon, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Hunterdon Medical Center, Flemington, NJ on Friday August 30, 2013. She was 76.
Myra was born in 1937 in Sunbury, PA, daughter of the late William N. and Daisy A. Lindemuth Suffel. She was a graduate of William Penn High School, Class of 1955 in Harrisburg, PA.
She was the beloved wife of the late Donald F. Scholl Sr. with whom she shared 32 years of marriage.
Myra was retired from Verizon, previously working with the Bell Telephone Co., AT&T and Bell Atlantic. She was a member of the Telephone Pioneers of America, Communication Workers of America and Calvary Lutheran Church, West Chester.
Myra is survived by her three children, sons Donald Jr. (wife Christine) Flemington, NJ, Chip (wife Cindy) Hudson, OH and daughter Pamela Fry (husband Richard) Ambler, PA, sisters Norma Croft of Lancaster, PA and Margaret (Peg) Keever of Camp Hill, PA, and her seven dear grandchildren, Vanessa, Kelsey, Melanie, Sam, Ryan, Erin and Gavin.
She was preceded in death by her twin sister, Myrna Laatsch.
Myra enjoyed cooking, reading, music and sports, and through the years was a loyal fan of the Philadelphia Phillies and Penn State football. She enjoyed and attended many hundreds of music and sporting events of her children and grandchildren.
She is remembered fondly by many nieces and nephews, cousins, extended family & friends, all of whom she loved and she followed their lives with great interest. Very near to her heart were her loyal and compassionate, dear friends Marge Gordon and Anne Jakielaszek.
Her family would like to thank the medical staff at the Hunterdon Medical Center for their care, kindness and compassion.
Funeral Services will take place on Friday, September 6, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. This will be preceded by a visitation in the Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 p.m.
Graveside services will be private in Fairview Memorial Park, 111 State Route 435, Elmhurst Township, PA, 18444.
