Nancy E. (Lennek) Kadezabek - May 1, 1932 – August 13, 2023
Nancy E. Kadezabek, a longtime Hunterdon County native, passed away peacefully at the age of 91 on August 13th. Nancy lived 86 years in and around the Flemington area, she moved to Pennsylvania with her late husband, Frank, in 2018 and resided in Warminster and Yardley, PA at the time of her death.
She was born in Kingwood Township on her parent’s farm, where she lived an idyllic childhood learning early the value of hard work, a deep love of nature, cooking, and sewing, and the importance of family. She graduated in 1950 from Frenchtown High School with the ambition to have a career and she quickly found her calling when she went to work as a bookkeeper at the original Flemington Circle Buick (on the circle) in her twenties. One of the traits, that most noticed about her immediately, was that not only was she smart, but also had a great deal of ambition and was always looking to learn and advance in her career.
In 1956 she wed her beloved husband of 64 years, Frank Kadezabek, and made a happy and warm home on Barley Sheaf Road, where she lived her entire adult life. She raised her three children, Susan, Ken, and Lauren and was active in all of their school activities, as well as band, 4-H, and Brownies/Girl Scouts. She was first and foremost a kind and loving wife, Mother and Aunt who was well known to many as their “adopted mother”, whether they were her kid’s friends or co-workers. During the years she raised her family, she realized that she was a born teacher and found a way to turn domestic pursuits into a profit. In the 1960’s and 70’s she was an avid quilter and taught others this skill that she learned from her mother; she also made and sold many different crafts over the years and ran the 4-H sewing club. She loved connecting with people and was the neighborhood Avon lady and a top salesperson year-after-year in this first female driven company.
When the time came to return to work in the late 70’s, she returned to her love of car dealerships and enjoyed a long career working at Flemington Circle Buick/GMC for more than 20 years, retiring as the office manager/head bookkeeper in the mid-1990s. Nancy and Frank spent many years traveling the globe extensively as well as staying close to home to help raise their four grandsons. They were both active members of the Flemington Presbyterian Church from 1956 thru 2017. Nancy and her daughter Lauren were founding members of the Flemington Chapter AX of PEO, a philanthropic organization that helps fund and further women’s education.
Nancy is survived by her daughter Susan Kadezabek and husband Aravind, her son Ken Kadezabek and his wife Fran (CT), and her daughter Lauren Kadezabek (NJ). She was also the proud Nanny to four beautiful and smart grandsons, Sam Kadezabek (Texas), Benjamin Kadezabek (CT), and Ryan and Wyatt Thompson (Frenchtown). She is survived by her sisters Luba Polhemus and Vera Lennek, she was pre-deceased by her brother Charles Lennek Jr. and her parents Charles Lennek Sr. and Anna Lennek. Her beloved husband Frank passed away on December 31st, 2020.
