Nathan Halpern, age 94 years, of Brooklyn, NY, died on Thursday, May 22, 2014 in Arbor Glen Care Center, Bridgewater, NJ.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, March 29, 1920, son of the late Michael and Goldie Harbus Halpern, he had formerly resided in New York City, NY.
He worked as a salesman for Coblentz Bag Company, Manhattan, NY.
A member of the Supreme Lodge Knights of Pythians, Brooklyn, NY, Nathan enjoyed good food, painting, poetry, and a good drink of scotch.
He is predeceased by his wife Irma Halpern in 1986 and a son Barry Halpern in 2012.
Surviving are a daughter, Karen Schwartz of Atlanta, GA; one sister, Helen Gasner of Bridgewater, NJ; six nieces and nephews; seven great-nieces and great-nephews, six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held at Arbor Glen Care Center, 100 Monroe Street, Bridgewater, NJ, on Monday, June 2 ,2014, at 2:00 PM. Interment will be private under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822.
