Nathaniel Manning Fisher, age 26 years, died Friday, September 16, 2016 in Providence, Rhode Island.
Born November 22, 1989 in Glen Ridge, NJ, Nathaniel was the son of Robert M. Fisher of Pittstown, NJ and Linda A. Jung of Franklin Township, NJ. He was raised in Upper Montclair, NJ before moving to Hunterdon County in 2005. Nathaniel was a graduate of North Hunterdon Regional High School Class of 2008, where he was a member of the Track & Field Team, Swim Team and a member of the Chess Club.
Nathaniel was a student at the University of Rhode Island, pursuing a degree in Political Science. He worked for Mathematica Policy Research in Princeton as a Research Assistant. He was a member of the Fully Informed Jury Association (FIJA), and had worked for Headcount, assisting citizens in registering to vote in primary and secondary elections at the State and Federal Level. His interests included social reform, renewable energy systems and Cold War politics. He is a Past Member of the Student Conservation Association which constructs and restores nature trails to operable conditions in NJ. He shared his love of music, history, travel, cemeteries and forensics with his mom.
Nathaniel will be missed by his many friends, relatives, and animals, especially his beloved German Short-Haired Pointer, Bubba.
His brother, Christian Manning predeceased him in 2000. In addition to his parents, Nathaniel is survived by his three brothers, David Manning of California, Noah and Owen Manning of Flemington, NJ, his sister Katherine Alma of Flemington NJ, as well as several aunts, uncles and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m., Saturday, September 24, 2016 at Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ 08801. Interment will follow in Immaculate Conception Cemetery in Upper Montclair, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday afternoon from 4:00 p.m. to 8 p.m at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Nathaniel's name may be made to Mane Stream in Oldwick, NJ or to the Animal Rescue League of Southern Rhode Island, 506 Curtis Corner Rd, Peace Dale, RI 02883
