Born in Flemington, NJ on January 23, 1878, he was the son of the late Howard Sutphin and Elizabeth Groff.

Mr. Sutphin was the President of the Flemington National Bank & Trust Company.

He was survived by his wife, Ann (Clark) Sutphin.

Interment in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ.
