Nicholas A. Rigas

Nicholas A. Rigas, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in the Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in New York City, NY, January 10, 1916, he was the son of the late Arthur B. and Ida May Johnson Rigas. He formerly resided in Westwood, NJ before moving to Raritan Township, NJ in 1964.

Mr. Rigas was a Production Manager for the Journal of Commerce, Phillipsburg, NJ, retiring in 1982.

A United States Coast Guard Veteran of World War II, he was a member of the Flemington Presbyterian Church, Flemingon, NJ; the Flemington Elks Lodge #1928; a Past Master of Darcy Lodge #37, F. & A.M., Flemington, NJ; the Hunterdon Harmonizers; Copper Hill Country Club, Raritan Township, NJ; and the Hunterdon County Shrine Club.

Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Alice Johnson Rigas; a daughter, Alice J. Feret of Blacksburg, VA; a daughter and son-in-law, Carole E. and E. Lewis Rumpf of Ridgefield, CT; a brother, William A. Regis of Phoenix, AZ; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday at 11:00 a.m. in the Flemington Presbyterian Church, 10 East Main Street, Flemington, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
