Nicholas James Turtola

Nicholas James Turtola, age 21 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, passed away on Saturday, October 22, 2016 in St. Clare’s Hospital, Dover, NJ.

Born in Morristown, NJ, November 10, 1994, he was the son of Frank and Joanne Turtola of Raritan Township, NJ.

Nicholas was a student about to enter his senior year at West Chester University of Pennsylvania. He was looking forward to a career in the environmental science field, in geo-mapping and planning, that would have enabled him to work in the great outdoors which he loved. He was an avid snowboarder and also enjoyed fishing, the occasional round of golf and taking long, scenic drives in a car he loved to tinker with. He was quiet and unassuming with a bright smile that was so very infectious.

Surviving, in addition to his parents, are his twin brother, Zachary Paul Turtola, of Raritan Township, NJ; his maternal grandmother, Jennie Jardine, of Selinsgrove, PA; his paternal grandmother, Margaret Turtola, of Oceanside, NY; and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday, October 28, 2016 at 10:30 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be private in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Valhalla, NY. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 27, 2016 from 5-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
