Norma D. Yankowski, age 84 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at her home.
Born in Brooklyn, NY, January 15, 1931, she was the daughter of the late Anthony and Lena Carini Barbieri.
Norma worked in food service as a cafeteria worker for Barley Sheaf Elementary School, Flemington, NJ.
She was a Life Member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Raritan Township Fire Company and served in the auxiliary over fifty years. She was also a contributing member of the Popcorn Park Zoo Animal Rescue and Sanctuary, Forked River, NJ.
Norma was pre-deceased by her husband John Yankowski in 2014 and a nephew Rob Barbieri in 1999. Surviving are one brother, Robert A. Barbieri of Stewart Manor, NY; two nieces, Patricia Camme of Farmingdale, NJ, and Susan Eckert of Michigan; eight great nieces and nephews and one great-great nephew.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at 10 AM in St. Magdalen Church, 105 Mine Street, Flemington, NJ. Entombment will follow in the Cemetery of the Resurrection Mausoleum, Staten Island, New York. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
