Oswald L. Nering, age 96 years, of Myrtle Beach, SC, died Wednesday, September 14, 2016, in
Myrtle Beach.
Born in Carteret, NJ, February 1, 1920, he had resided in Myrtle Beach for thirty-three years and had formerly resided in Raritan Township, NJ for thirty-five years.
He was formerly a production manager for General Motors, Linden, NJ, until retiring.
An avid golfer and a former member of St. Paul Lutheran Church of Flemington, NJ, he was also a US Army veteran of World War II.
His wife of seventy-one years, Dorothy Lentz Nering, died in 2013.
Surviving are two daughters, Carol McBride of Colorado Springs, CO, and Kathleen Nering of Elbert, CO; three sons, Donald Nering of Quakertown, NJ, Robert Nering of Sergeantsville, NJ and Thomas Nering of Milford, NJ; a sister, Olga Robertson of South Plainfield, NJ; seven grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held Friday, September 23, 2016, at 9:00 AM in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be Thursday 2:00-4:00 PM & 6:00-8:00 PM at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
