Ottaviano Thomas DeChiaro, age 93 years, of Clinton Township, NJ, died on Monday, July 30, 2012, at his residence.
Born in Staten Island, NY, October 29, 1918, he was the son of the late Vincent and Concetta Pompa Buonassisi and had formerly resided in Toms River, NJ.
He worked for many years for Proctor & Gamble, Staten Island, NY, retiring in 1975.
He was a United States Navy veteran of World War II and former Commander of the Five Star American Legion Post, Staten Island, NY.
Surviving are his wife of seventy-three years, Doris Moran DeChiaro; a daughter and son-in-law, Doreen and Louis Parisi, of Franklin Township, NJ; a sister, Rita Garcia, of Forked River, NJ; three grandchildren: Terese Parisi and partner Kris, Mark Parisi and partner Jael, and Steven Parisi and wife Patricia; and many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 9:45 a.m. in Immaculate Conception Church, 316 Old Allerton Road, Annandale, NJ. Entombment will be in Moravian Cemetery, Staten Island, NY. Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
