Pao-Jane Chen, age 91 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at her home, as a classical hymn was played on the piano by her grandson, Alex. She had a tear in her eye as she listened to the gentle music and went to be with God.
Born on November 29, 1921 in Fuchao, China, she had resided in Raritan Township since 1994, haviung formerly lived in Branchburg, NJ, China and Taiwan.
A graduate of Xie-He University in China, she was a middle school english teacher in Kaohsiung, Taiwan. She was formerly the President of the Women's Association of the Methodist Church in Taiwan, the Governor of Wesley Girl's High School in Taipei, Taiwan and was a longtime member of Rutgers University Church, Somerset, NJ.
Her husband of sixty years, Ming-Chao Chen, died in 2007.
Surviving are two sons and daughters-in-law, Brian and Yi-Shan Chen of Raritan Township, NJ and Otis and Ellen Chen of Saratoga, FL; and four grandchildren, Vincent, Nick, Andrew and Alex Chen.
A Memorial Service will be held at a later date under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
