Patricia Ann Malaiko

July 24, 1935 — May 2, 2021

Patricia Ann Malaiko, of Neshanic Station NJ, died Sunday, May 2, 2021 at Hunterdon Medical Center in Raritan Township NJ. She was 85 years old.

Born July 24, 1935, in Pennsylvania, Patricia was the daughter of the late Katharine (Clifford) Faye. The oldest of three, Patricia moved with her family to the Bronx in New York City and eventually to New Jersey in 1968 with her late husband. She has resided in Neshanic Station for more than ten years.

After her marriage to the late Thomas Myron Malaiko, she raised her three children and then worked for many years at the Gaston Avenue Bakery in Somerville, eventually retiring as a Dietary Aide for the former Somerset Medical Center.

Patricia loved to read and treasured her original collection of her favorite author, Catherine Cookson. When she was younger, she often was crocheting or was in the kitchen baking many delicious desserts and meals for her family – they will all miss her tasty pot roast dinners that were a family favorite.

Patricia was a huge fan of the music of Tom Jones. She was a long-time member of his fan club and had many memories of concerts and listening to his music. The New York Yankees were a favorite of hers, especially the late Thurman Munson, and she was heart-broken when he died. She and Tom loved to dance, especially doing the “Lindy” at the Copacabana for many years.

There were always flowers in the house to brighten up a room and Patricia enjoyed and spent much time in her flower and vegetable garden growing and harvesting the results of her hard work. She loved cats, and over the years, had many that were companions to her.

In addition to her parents, Patricia was predeceased by her grandson, Dominic Scafuto. She is survived by her three children, Marie Horner of Manville NJ, Carolyn McLaughlin of Toms River NJ, and Thomas Malaiko of Neshanic Station NJ, her two brothers, Michael Faye of Fishkill NY and John Faye of Westchester NY, eleven grandchildren, James, Jesse, Katharine and Patrick Horner, Fay Moore, Crystal Sherry, Rosemarie Scafuto, Samantha McLaughlin, Nicole, Angela, and Thomas Malaiko Jr., as well as twelve great-grandchildren, James Jr., Jason, Jaxson, Tyler, Christopher, Sophia, Cole, Daniel, Julian, Carson, Tahlia (and one “to be named later!”).
