Paul Gabriel Keegan, age 71 years, of Holland Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 in Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital, New Brunswick, NJ.
Born in Passaic, NJ, April 25, 1941, son of the late Wilbur Vincent and Henrietta Fischer Keegan, he had resided in Holland Township for the past seventeen years, having formerly resided in Lebanon Borough and Florham Park, NJ.
A United States Veteran of the Vietnam War, Mr. Keegan was honorably discharged from the Marines with the rank of Lance Corporal in 1964.
He was currently serving as a dispatcher for Veolia Transportation, Union, NJ. Prior to that, he had retired after thirty-five years of service as Assistant Director of Information Systems for CIBA Pharmaceuticals, Summit, NJ.
Mr. Keegan formerly was a longtime member of Church of the Holy Spirit, Lebanon, NJ and was currently attending Frenchtown Presbyterian Church, Frenchtown, NJ. He was a longtime member of the Florham Park Players, a community theater group in Florham Park; was very involved in his Marine Unit Alumni Group, the 8th & I; and was a very proud announcer for the Riegel Ridge Rams, Milford, NJ.
A son, Samuel Paul Keegan, died in 1998.
Surviving are his wife of twenty-six years, Tamra L. Wilson Keegan; three daughters, Deborah Keegan of Los Angeles, CA, Chloe Keegan and Gabrielle Keegan, both of Holland Township, NJ; a son and daughter-in-law, James and Christina Keegan of Netcong, NJ; a son, Daniel W. V. Keegan of Holland Township, NJ; and three sisters, Virginia Ellson in Idaho, Catherine Brogan in New Jersey and Marie Heindrichs and her husband, Kurt in Florida.
An "Irish Wake" celebrating Mr. Keegan's life will take place in the Fellowship Hall of Church of the Holy Spirit, 3 Haytown Road, Lebanon, NJ 08833 on Sunday, August 19, 2012 from 6:00 - 8:00 p.m.
A Memorial Service will take place at Church of the Holy Spirit on Monday, August 20, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Inurnment will follow in the Memorial Garden located on Church Grounds.
