Paul H. Silhan, age 66 years, of Readington Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, June 28, 2016 in the Hunterdon Medical Center, Raritan Township, Hunterdon County, NJ.
Born in New York, NY, October 25, 1949, he was the son of the late Henry and Marion Kadlec Silhan. He had formerly resided in Ridge, Long Island, NY.
Mr. Silhan received his Bachelor’s degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and received his juris doctorate degree of law from Brooklyn Law School. He was an attorney and worked as Director of Commercial Contracts at Pricewaterhouse Coopers. Paul was a member of the New York State Bar Association, President of Theta Chi Fraternity, Theta Chi Fraternity’s alumni board of directors and a member of the Longwood Central School District Board of Education.
Paul was truly a Renaissance man with great intellect, sense of humor and passion for life. He was an especially talented musician. His interests ran the gamut from music, gardening, astronomy, writing, law, leadership, travel and politics. All of those things gave him great joy. His true love in life was spending time with his family, especially his beloved sons.
He is survived by his wife of forty years, Debra Ann Nichols Silhan; his sons, Paul Tyler Nichols Silhan and Peter Renat Silhan, both of Readington Township, NJ; a brother, Peter Silhan, of Champaign, IL; and his sisters, Pamela Butters of Decorah, IA and Patricia Anastasia of Ridge, NY.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday, July 9, 2016 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Cremation and interment will be private.
