Paul Edward Jones, age 79, of Cartersville, GA, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 17, 2024 at Advent Redmond Regional Medical Center, Rome, GA.
Paul was born in Somerville, NJ, to the late Wilson D. Jones, Sr. and Leila Wilda (Baldwin) Jones. He is also preceded in death by his wife of nearly 56 years, Cindy Jones, his grandson, Alexander Jones, his brother, Wayne C. Jones, and sister, Loraine J. Thanel.
He is survived by his four beautiful daughters, Denise Jones, Kris Glashoff, Paula Martinez, Dana Ryan, and son-in-law, Eddie Ryan; his grandchildren, Kayla Glashoff, George Glashoff Jr., Gabriel Jones, Jacob Ryan, Morgan Glashoff, Eric Glashoff, Jonathan Ryan, and Bella Ballesteros; his great-grandchildren, Jordan Glashoff, Jamie Jean Ryan, Dakota Glashoff, Roman and Sydney McLain, Dustin Glashoff, Savannah Glashoff, Ivy River Ryan and Brixton Glashoff; his brother, Wilson D Jones, Jr., as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins, and extended family members.
Paul proudly served our country with the United States Navy, then went on to be a police officer for Flemington Borough and was proud to be the first police officer with the Raritan Township Police Department. In addition, he further served his community with the Flemington Fire Department for nearly 60 years, as well as serving as Councilman for Washington Borough in 2017.
One of his greatest achievements was “Bucky”, the third largest, atypical whitetail deer in the state of New Jersey for 2006.
Paul’s family will receive friends for a visitation at 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM Noon on Saturday, December 28, 2024, at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, located at 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822. A funeral service and firemen’s service will follow at 12:00 PM Noon in the funeral home. Interment with military honors will immediately follow at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Capner Street, Flemington, NJ, with the repast to follow.
