Paul Kurzenberger, age 92 years, passed away on Friday, January 27, 2023 at the Parker at Landing Lane Nursing Care Residence, New Brunswick, NJ.
Born December 5, 1930, he was the son of the late Paul J. and Helen (Rauter) Kurzenberger. He had resided in the Hunterdon County area all his life.
In 1927, his father bought the family farm in Delaware Township, NJ. Paul grew up working on the farm and this love of farming continued from a young age right up until his body could do it no longer. Additionally, Paul worked for the Hunterdon County Roads Department for twenty-three years, retiring in 1994.
Paul was a man of many hobbies. This included photography, reading, postcard collecting, country music and dancing, roller skating at the Frenchtown Roller Rink, playing softball, and especially studying history.
Furthermore, he was a member of the Titusville Postcard Club, former Treasurer of Lower Amwell Cemetery, member of the Delaware Township Seniors, and Photographer of WDVR Radio's Heartland Hayride.
Surviving are his wife of sixty-three years, Dorothy (Myers) Kurzenberger of Delaware Township, NJ; four children, Alan Paul Kurzenberger of Delaware Township, NJ, Lori Ann Tenney (David) of Chesterfield, NJ, Lisa Ann Pennington (Jeff) of Hillsborough, NJ, and Jennifer Lynn Richardson of Sparta, NJ; thirteen grandchildren: Jacqueline Tenney, David Tenney, Jr., Heather Swartz, Sarah Waddell, Daniel Tenney, Dylan Tenney, Dalton Tenney, Emilie Tenney, Dustin Tenney, Megan Tenney, Riley Richardson, Hunter Richardson, and Holden Richardson; six great-grandchildren; as well as his brother and sister-in-law, John and Elizabeth Kurzenberger.
Funeral services, officiated by Pastor Robert DiSalvio, will take place Thursday, February 2, 2023, at 1:00 PM in the Amwell Church of the Brethren, 40 Sandbrook Headquarters Road, Stockton, NJ. Burial will follow in Lower Amwell Cemetery just down the road from the church. There will be a visitation in the church from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM prior to the service.
