Pauline “Polly” O. Jewett

Pauline (“Polly”) O. Jewett, age 95 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died Saturday, June 9, 2018 at Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ. Born in Tippecanoe County, IN, August 1, 1922, daughter of the late Asa and Daisy Ward Oilar, she had formerly resided in New Milford, CT. Pauline attended nursing school after High School and later in life worked as the school nurse for the Gunnery in Washington, CT. A member of the First Congregational Church in Washington, CT, Pauline was an accomplished quilter and active with the Meetinghouse Quilters. She loved gardening and was an avid bridge player at the Senior Center in New Milford, CT. She is pre-deceased by her husband John Jewett in 2002. Surviving are her four children, Sandra Bishop of Sodus, NY, Jacqueline Strigl of Stockton, NJ, Jeffrey Jewett of Blue Creek, OH, and Marsha Jewett-LaPointe of Ticonderoga, NY. Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Joel, Mark, Mike, Asa, Amber, Brett, and Zack; eleven great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren, and her son-in-law William Bishop and daughter-in-law Debbie Jewett. Cremation services will be held privately under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
