Peggy Ann Gravett, age 61 years, of Whitehouse Station NJ, died Tuesday, June 12, 2018 at Morristown Memorial Hospital in Morristown, NJ.
Born September 12, 1956 in Cincinnati OH, Peggy was the daughter of the late Earl Gelter and Imelda “Mitzi” (Bauscher) Gelter of Cincinnati. Peggy was raised, married, and started a family in Cincinnati before moving to Michigan and Chicago. She moved to Ringoes, NJ twenty-two years ago and has lived in Hunterdon County ever since.
For many years Peggy was at home raising her girls. Once they were older, she worked in the Flemington-Raritan School District as a Teacher’s Assistant for special needs children. During that time she started as a volunteer at Safe In Hunterdon in Flemington, NJ, which later became an employer and was always dear to her heart.
Peggy was always social and loved to be everybody’s friend – from the friends at Gearys Ridge in Ringoes to new friends at Regency at Readington. She was always looking for a good game of cards like canasta, a crossword or Sudoku puzzle, reading a newspaper or book, listening or dancing to some ‘feel-good’ music – she seemed to always have a smile to share. Most of all, her favorite times were spent with her three grandchildren, whom she cherished.
Predeceased by her father, Earl Gelter, and her husband, Ronald Gravett in 2007, Peggy is survived by her three daughters, Michelle and Glenn Mielke of Flemington, NJ, Kim and Tyler Collins of Doylestown, PA, and Julie Gravett and her boyfriend, Dan Puentes of Morristown, NJ, her mother, Mitzi Gelter of Cincinnati, and her three grandchildren, Declan Mielke, Colin Mielke, and Claire Collins. She is also survived by her two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Teri Gelter, and Bob and Lori Gelter, all of Cincinnati OH, as well as many in-laws, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 4:30 pm on Friday, June 15, 2018 at Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington NJ. Interment will follow in St. Magdalen Cemetery in Flemington. Calling hours will be Friday from 2:00 pm until the time of service at the funeral home.
