Peter Joseph Wilson

Peter Joseph Wilson, age 63, of Manville NJ, died Sunday, November 6, 2022 at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital – Somerset in Somerville, NJ.

Born August 23, 1959 in Raritan Township NJ, Peter was the son of Lester E. and Eleanor (Tominovich) Wilson of Flemington NJ. Peter was raised in Branchburg NJ and graduated from Somerville High School where he was an offensive and defensive tackle on the football team and was a member of the track team as well. Soon after graduation, he moved to Manville NJ where he lived the balance of his life.

In his youth, Peter was a sharp-shooter and a member of the NRA and Somerset Fish and Game Association where he earned the Distinguished Rifleman’s Award and was New Jersey Prone Junior Champion at age 13. He also loved to hunt deer and small game as well as to go deep-sea fishing or fish for local trout in the many streams and rivers with his friends.

Peter was a Shipping and Receiving Supervisor for PTI Pharmaceuticals in Edison NJ for many years.

Peter enjoyed attending many sporting events and concerts throughout the years, especially his favorite teams, the NY Giants and the NY Yankees or watching a NASCAR race with his long-time favorite, Dale Earnhardt Sr. With his friends and colleagues, Peter attended nearly 70 concerts just for Bruce Springsteen alone! Other memorable concerts included Elton John and Billy Joel.

In addition to his parents, Peter is survived by his daughter, Sara E. Wilson of Cookeville TN, his sister and brother-in-law, Diane Marie Wilson-Cook and Paul Cook of Ringoes NJ, and his special nephews, Christopher Cook and Stephen Cook.

Funeral services and cremation will be private and under the direction of Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main St., Flemington NJ 08822.
