R. Lillian Mathews

R. Lillian Mathews, age 99 years, of Pittstown, NJ, passed away on Tuesday, September 17, 2019 in Independence Manor, Raritan Township, NJ. She had resided in Franklin Township, Hunterdon, NJ since 1959, and formerly resided in Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Elizabeth, NJ, July 14, 1920, she was the daughter of the late Angelo and Rosalie Disporto Lamendola.

Lillian worked for Eaton Corporation, Raritan Township, NJ for many years. She was a Communicant of St. Catherine of Siena Church, Pittstown, NJ; member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Quakertown Volunteer Fire Department; the Quakertown Recreation Club; and the Franklin Township Senior Citizens.

Her husband, Harold Mathews, died in 2011, and she was the last of ten siblings. Surviving are three sons and daughters-in-law, Ronald and Nancy Mathews of Pittstown, NJ, James and Kathy Mathews of Pittstown, NJ, and John and Valerie Mathews of Lebanon, NJ; six grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held on Saturday, September 21, 2019 at 10 AM in Locust Grove Cemetery, Quakertown, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Friday, September 20, 2019 from 5-7 PM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ, and on Saturday, September 21, 2019 from 9-9:30 AM in the funeral home.
