Robert Thomas (Thom) Peabody, age 65, of East Amwell Township, passed away at home on March 18, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer.

Born on April 8, 1947 in Somerset, NJ, he was the son of the late Frederick Peabody and Martha Drechsler Peabody. Thom was raised in Whitehouse, NJ and moved to Ringoes (East Amwell Township) in 1971.

Thom enlisted in the US Air Force during the Vietnam War (1967-1968) and was honorably discharged at the rank of Sergeant. He received his Associate Degree in Computer Science at the University of Central Florida.

Besides enjoying spending time with his family and friends, Thom loved his sports teams, the Philadelphia Eagles, Boston Red Sox, and NASCAR. He enjoyed traveling, gardening, golfing, reading his news papers, completing crossword puzzles, and spending time with his children, five grandchildren, relatives, and friends who all supported him throughout his ordeal.

Thom was employed by Hunterdon Review in Whitehouse Station, AF Neighber Sales, and joined Warren Distributing Co./Hub City in 1980, where he continued to work until his retirement in 2007.

He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Flemington.

Far beyond a great man, friends and family described Thom as a kind and gentle soul, selfless, with a gentle spirit, thoughtful, compassionate, and cheerful. He touched many lives and will be missed and remembered by many.
