Raphael "Ralph" A. Bengivenga

Raphael A. “Ralph” Bengivenga, age 77 years, of Delaware Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 in Overlook Hospital, Summit, NJ.

Born in Plainfield, NJ, January 11, 1941, he was the son of the late Raffaele and Antoinette Muglia Bengivenga. He had resided in Delaware Township for the past forty years.

A former steel worker, Ralph retired as an office administrator with the Good News Home, Flemington, NJ, where he also volunteered with the Bible Studies program. Ralph was a member and deacon of Calvary Baptist Church (Son Rise Bible Church), Flemington, NJ.

He was predeceased by his wife, Loretta A. Bengivenga, in 1988, and a grandson, Joseph, Jr., in 1988. Surviving are his three sons, Ralph Bengivenga III (Cathy) of Roseto, PA, Joseph (Kelly) Bengivenga of Washington, NJ, and Donald Bengivenga of Flemington, NJ; his siblings, Judy DiLeo (Sandy) of South Plainfield, NJ, Phyllis Colucci of Piscataway, NJ, Robert Bengivenga (April) of South Plainfield, NJ, Anthony Bengivenga (Rachel) of Green Brook, NJ, and George Bengivenga (Janice) of Bound Brook, NJ; eight grandchildren: Loretta Bengivenga, Nicolas Bengivenga, Anthony Bengivenga, Michael Bengivenga, Vincent Bengivenga, Matthew Ward, Joshua Bengivenga, and Kaitlyn Chadwick; and his two great-grandchildren: Thomas and Jocelyn Chadwick.

Funeral services officiated by Rev. Chuck Perone will be held on Wednesday, November 28, 2018 at 11 AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Tuesday, November 27, 2018 from 2-4 and 6-8 PM and Wednesday from 10-11 AM in the funeral home.
