Rebecca P. Hunt

Rebecca P. Hunt., age 86 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Tuesday, September 2, 2013 in Morristown Memorial Hospital, Morristown, NJ. Becky left to join her beloved Henry, who preceded her in death.

Rebecca graduated from Douglass College and taught English and Drama to high school students. She pursued acting whenever she could, performing at the Foothill Playhouse, the Hunterdon Hills Playhouse and others. She performed with troupes in Australia and for television to help teach Japanese school children the English language. Later in life, she enjoyed a second career in real estate.

Rebecca was proud to say that she raised and educated her sons in five countries during her life as the family lived around the world. She was an amazing woman, donating time and effort to a variety of causes, including work while the family lived abroad. She volunteered her time through Red Cross agencies with injured soldiers during both World War II and the Vietnam Conflict while living in Japan. Locally, she volunteered with Meals on Wheels, Holly Trail, and for activities of the Stanton Reformed Church. Please forgive us if we have omitted other organizations with which she volunteered.

Surviving are two sons, Henry C. Hunt, III (Donna) and Douglas E. Hunt; Grandchildren Bryan (Angel), Carrie, Ryan, Sean (Jenna), Heather and Meaghan; and Great Grandson, Braxton.

In addition to her love for her family, she especially valued her wonderful friends and friendships she maintained. She led a wonderful, full life, and as she said “she had a good run”. She will be missed, and she will be remembered in all of our hearts for the fantastic, classy lady that she was. We cannot say enough about her.

A Remembrance Service will be held Saturday at 11:00 a.m. in the Stanton Reformed Church, Stanton, NJ. Interment took place in Newell Cemetery, Stanton, NJ under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ.
