Reina W. Quartel

Reina W. Quartel, age 88 years, of Kingwood Township, NJ, died Friday, January 10, 2014, in Hunterdon Care Center, Raritan Township, NJ.

Born in Boskoop, The Netherlands, January 24, 1925, daughter of the late Arie and Pietje Van De Wolf Geers, she had formerly resided in Princeton, NJ, where she and her husband owned and operated Quartel Nursery for many years.

Reina had resided in Kingwood Township for fifteen years and was a former member of the Blawenburg Reformed Church.

Her husband, Albert Quartel, died in 2004.

Surviving are a son, Peter A. Quartel, of Kingwood Township, NJ; three daughters, Jeannette Leach of Kingwood Township, NJ, Eleanor S. Braun of Delaware Township, NJ and Ellen Rose Locke of Lusby, Maryland; a sister, Jeannie Peters of Wheaton, IL; eight grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, January 18, 2014, at 11:00AM in the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Rosemont Cemetery, Rosemont, NJ. Calling hours will be Friday 6:30-8:30 PM. Memorial contributions may be made to Kingwood Rescue Squad, PO Box 89, Baptistown, NJ 08803.
