Reinhard Wegner

Reinhard Wegner, age 72 years, of Raritan Township, NJ, died on Wednesday, April 2, 2008, at his residence.

Born in Pommerania, Germany, January 17, 1936, he was the son of the late Gerhard and Dorothea Zimdars Wegner. He had resided in Raritan Township for forty-seven years.

He was a Contract Supervisor with Elizabethtown Gas Company, Flemington, NJ, for thirty-three years, and then was an inspector for the Hunterdon County Soil Conservation District for five years until retiring.

He served with the United States Army from 1958-1960.

Reinhard was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, Flemington, NJ, the South Branch Watershed Association, and was a former volunteer for Meals On Wheels.

Surviving are his wife, Waltraut Trunnelberg Wegner; two daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Brad Rauch of Denver, PA, and Ingrid and Kenneth Hartfiel of Canton, MA; six grandchildren: Johanna Marie Rauch, Martin Paul Rauch, Philip Carl Hartfiel, Peter Christian Hartfiel, Charlotte Ruth Hartfiel, and Lucas Michael Hartfiel; two sisters, Erika Bentz and Margarethe Krawitz, both in Germany; a brother, Helmut Wegner of Canada; and three sisters-in-law: Lisa Wegner and Elfriede Wegner, both of Germany, and Elfriede Wegner of New Jersey.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday at 12 Noon in St. Paul Lutheran Church, 201 Highway 31, Flemington, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Flemington, NJ. Calling hours will be held from 11 AM until time of service in the church.
