Rev. H.W.R. Horsfield, age 88 years, of Pitman, NJ, died on Tuesday, September 12, 2006, in Elmer Hospital, Elmer, NJ.
Born in Plainfield, NJ, April 27, 1918, he was the son of the late William and Frances Suchy Horsfield.
He had formerly resided in Ringoes, NJ, and Raritan Township, NJ.
A retired Presbyterian minister, he was a graduate of Rutgers University and the Princeton Theological Seminary, Princeton, NJ. He was pastor of the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, Ringoes, NJ, from 1949 until his retirement in 1988.
He was a Staff Sergeant in the United States Army Signal Corps serving in India during World War II.
He was a member of Ringoes Grange #12, and was a volunteer for many years with the Amwell Valley-Ringoes Rescue Squad, Ringoes, NJ.
His wife, Almeda Robb Horsfield, died in 1994, and he was also pre-deceased by a daughter, Susan Horsfield, and a brother, William Horsfield. Surviving are a daughter, Ann Castor, of Hamilton, NJ; a son, John Horsfield, of Pitman, NJ; a niece, Vivian Gilbertson, of Key Colony, FL; a nephew, Penn Horsfield, of Melbourne, FL; and four grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held on Saturday at 2 PM in the Kirkpatrick Memorial Presbyterian Church, John Ringo Road, Ringoes, NJ, under the direction of the Holcombe-Fisher Funeral Home, 147 Main Street, Flemington, NJ. Interment will be in Union Cemetery, Ringoes, NJ. Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1 PM until time of service in the church.
